Been having this issue with my new 12″ helix. Sometimes it will work all day, other times it won’t work at all and some days it will start working then after a hour or two go blank, once this happens I’ve been able to restart the unit and it may take 10-15 attempts but if I’m lucky it’ll start working again, usually not for very long. Notice the faint coloring around the edge, this also happens sometimes when the screen does work. I have a networked helix 10 g3n right next to it and that unit has had zero issues. I’ve hooked up the power unit from the 10 to the 12 just to check that when the 12 is wacky and it doesn’t help. I’ve also hooked it up straight to a spare cranking battery and left it on sitting in my garage overnight and the first night it went fuzzy, tried it a second night and it worked all night. (battery was fully charged at start both times) I’m perplexed, Humminbird thinks it’s a voltage issue which it certainly may be but I’m thinking the voltage issue is in the unit and not the power supplying the unit (unit not reading voltage properly) by the way the cranking battery is a interstate size 29 that is brand new this year, charged after each use. I’m out of town for the next few weeks so not much I can do at the moment. Just curious if anyone else has had this issue, I was planning on eventually replacing the cranking battery with a X2 group 31 AGM made from northstar but was hoping to hold off until spring.
