I was about to buy helix 10si, but this 1199c from cabelas seems like a pretty good deal. What are the major differences between the two? I know the 1199 doesnt have autochart, but what else. Is the Helix 10si worth the extra $200? Any thoughts? I have always owned cheap locaters under $300 so this will be a large investment for me. Just want to make the right decision?

Im in the same boat. The research I found is a couple of points: Screen clarity in the helix is amazing. Auto charting in helix included. Size demensions with helix is better for dash mounting. Both would require high speed transducer installation along with side imaging ducer. Processor speed? Newer technology? I’m holding out for the helix 10. Anyone else?

Get the Helix 10. Also, do a google search for helix 10 vs 1199… Tons of information from multiple sources to help your decision.

Helix 10. AutoChart is an amazing tool, the clarity is pretty darn impressive, and the processing capabilities is much improved.

When you buy the Helix 10si does it come with both transducers or do you have to purchase the side imaging transducer separately?

The side image transducer comes with the helix. You must purchase the hs transducer and y cable. $100.00 total extra I believe.

On my Crestliner I do not have to use an extra 2D transducer. The HDSI side imaging ducer works great. It takes some time to get it set up right but I also get SI at 45 MPH GPS.

They will share information. You will need the 5 port ethernet switch to plug them all into.
