You could try raising the ducer to see if that helps reduce the turbulence. Raising works 90% of time 10% of time lowering it helps. Ideally you installed a plastic board on the back of the boat first before installing ducer. That allows you to move the ducer around to find the sweet spot. Installing ducer and finding it’s best spot is only part science, the other half is witchcraft and I’ve installed hundreds of ducers.
I’ve seen moving a ducer left or right an 1/8″ go from garbage to fantastic. Same with height.
The big SI ducers are poorer at getting high speed readings, but you can sometimes still get them to do it. Often times people do install the high speed small 2D ducer on back of the boat, but that too can take tuning to find the best location.
