    Ross,

Here is what I’m planning on doing. I’ll be running a XT Hideout, a XT PRO Cabin and the XTH Resort this winter. Keeping in mind the new Thermal-Tec fabric shells will be warmer than in the past, I’ve been toying around with heater size & combination.

For the XT Hideout flip-over, I’m planning on running a Lil’ Buddy heater (3,800 BTU) to keep size and weight down.

For the XT PRO Cabin flip-over, I’m planning on running the Hunting Buddy heater (6,000-12,000 BTU) as opposed to the Buddy (4,000-9,000 BTU)

For the XTH Resort hub, I’m planning on picking up a second Hunting Buddy heater and running both Hunting Buddies in there, one on each side. This will give me a range from 6,000 BTU up to 24,000 BTU for those -20 day/nights.

I’ve run the Mr Heater Heater/Cooker for many years in the PRO Cabin, but the lowest it goes is 8,000 BTU and at times it’s way to warm. I’m also looking to get away from sunflower heaters. Burned myself or holes in the fabric shell one to many time over the last 25+ years.

I’m curious also what everyone else is planning.

Yea I’m also trying to get away from the sunflower heaters heard to many horror stories. I was wondering if the big buddy will be enough on those really cold nights

I’ll be running a big buddy heater in my Otter Resort utilizing the hose and larger propane tank option as opposed to the little 1 lb tanks on each side. 18,000 btu’s should be plenty to heat that shack up even on the coldest of days.

That’s my plan, and I’ll have 12v power to run the blower if needed.

On real cold days I’m bringing Deb Dallas! toast

I run the Mr. Heater mounted to the top of a 20# tank. I also have the type with the hose and stand for the heater that sits on the ice, but that turns the ice into a dangerous mess.
