I searched the older topics and was wondering if there’s a certain brand of vest that’s better than the others and how they’re lasting those that have them?

Pnuma has been one of the better vest I have used. Bought it a few years ago. Nice thing is scheels does have replacement batteries. I recommend to go a size smaller to get a tight fit and helps with heating. I do not use loose base layer but a tighter fit and then the vest and helps feel the warmth better. I hear guys put next to skin but I don’t think I would like that.

I bought the cheapest vest on Amazon… around $25 and I hooked up a Dewalt battery in the pocket an it’s worked great for years! Has multiple heat sections and settings.

Specially designed batteries will be smaller and more convenient. If you’re trying to do it on a budget use the battery you have and a cheap vest and it’ll do the same thing. If money is no object by an expensive one with special batteries and you’ll be happy too.

I have an Arris. It was around $100. The sides of the vest zip in and out so you can make it smaller and bigger as you like. Has several heat sections and multiple settings. I really like mine.

Thanks for the replies and sorry about the other post, came up late and didn’t see it. Was thinking of trying one for deer season on the ladder stand if it gets cold, heck possibly even ice fishing!?

Arcteryx and Patagonia make some very thin but extremely warm vests. Not cheap but very warm. Good luck.
