Heat loss from your house, if your house was better insulated, you would need a heater in your garage, think about all of the heat loss not going in your garage?

I keep mine at 50 (it’s about a 4 1/2 car garage with 12’ ceilings). I just added a ceiling fan this year to keep the air moving around. For those with a 3-4 car garage with high ceilings, what fan direction makes the most sense? Clockwise or counter clockwise?

clockwise, push the warm air down and also it wont make your ceiling dirty if you do any work out there

Why don’t you guys just insulate your garage? Mine stays between 30-40 depending on the outside temps, unheated..just insulated.

Same here. Detached 32’x32’ and 10 ft ceilings. Fully insulated with 2 ceiling fans going 24×7. 95% of the time, the temp is between 30-40 with no heater going. I would like to get a propane heater installed in the next year or two but having it fully insulated makes it pretty manageable with no heat.

About 45 give to take, if I working out there or drying crap out then I will turn it up to 55.

Ceiling fans help I don’t have on yet, but that is this years project.

60 in my shop only because that is as low as the heat pump will allow me to set it. My garage is around 45. I will agree the ceiling fans makes a big difference. Replace an ugly one in your house and move the old one to the garage.

Just put 2 in my garage. Couldn’t believe how simple they were to install

And efficient. Make sure to go and get your $600 rebate from your electrical company.

I keep mine at 50° for the dogs waytogo

If we didn’t have them I’d probably go with 40-45° to save a little gas.

I’d like to hear more about this. Who do you have for a power company?
