I don’t know what the metro is like but we have gotten about 2″ of snow then it rained, now it’s snowing again. Was just outside and plowed the driveway. That stuff is wet & heavy!! If you received snow & rain get outside and get it taken care of TODAY. Once it freezes tonight it will be near impossible to move. They are forecasting a low of 19 here in Princeton tonight but down to -4 on Friday night. Things will be slippery under the snow also, use caution out there.

Tom SawvellInactivePosts: 9559December 27, 2018 at 1:33 pm #1820957Here in Rochester we got about 1.5″ of wet snow last night and then about 9:30 it turned to rain and stayed with rain all night so what fell was gone this morning. We’ve seen some heavier spells of rain today and I see the creek and river behind me is coming up a shade but not much. Some of our snow pack has disappeared with the rain but not much really. The temp is dropping now….33 degrees here and if its raining its real light. We had a lot of wind earlier. We still have pretty heavy air so I’m not crossing snow off the list of possibles just yet. I wish we’d either get to about 0 or 40 and stay there for the next three months. The 40 is preferable.

December 27, 2018 at 2:11 pm #1820967We got about 3″ overnight in the NW metro, but it was raining when I got up and walked the pooch at 6 a.m. I fired up the blower–that crap was heavy!
It’s been raining steadily all day. Yuck.
December 27, 2018 at 2:33 pm #1820975About 6″ here in Duluth with more up the shore. Had some sleet/rain mix this morning early coming into work, and my son said he saw quite a few cars had slid off the interstate on/off ramps between Esko and Cloquet when he drove home from practice at noon.
Be very careful if your traveling north in the next 24 hours, winds are going to hit 30 out of the east tonight with another 4-6″ predicted by the morning.
And of course, then down to -6 by Saturday morning.AUTO_5InactiveMendota Heights, MNPosts: 660mojogunterPosts: 3351December 27, 2018 at 3:09 pm #1820985I went out at 4am to plow. Hope no more snow in metro tonight.
That’s why I plowed at 11:30pm or so. Easy peasy

did you push your snow in the ditch?? if so,was the snow and the plow heavy??
did you have your flashing lights on and the arm extended when you crossed the road???December 27, 2018 at 8:21 pm #1821082Well thanks for the concern Sheldon. No, because it was so wet and I know it will be a solid block of ice by noon Friday, I didn’t push it across the road. And no, I can’t tell anybody what I did with it. Somebody will need to send a drone over and look for it I guess.
December 27, 2018 at 8:34 pm #1821091Just made it up to the cabin.
Only 12″
I did just about to have a heart attack shoveling the sidewalk.
Hopefully the plow guy shows up tomorrow morning because there’s no way I’m going to attack the drivewayAttachments:

December 27, 2018 at 8:54 pm #1821106Would it urine you off when your neighbors cheap single stage blower clears better than your expensive monster blower with all the bells and whistles? It pisses me off!

…I think today’s snow, the age drops to 29..

did you have your flashing lights on and the arm extended when you crossed the road???Be nice if the plows would start plowing in Isanti county. Sure is easier to pushe it across the street and into the ditch without the snow still on the road.

Just try to use your head as well.

I used my head and moved it to the neighbors yard.

I think you’re right. I’m not an old dog yet, but that was some of the heaviest snow/slush I’ve had to shovel in quite some time.. I think we got about 6-7 in Hinckley. Blowing to beat hell this mornin though. I’m sure I’ll have a wonderful mess to tend to when I get home with the drifting. Or maybe I’ll just go fishing till it warms up again Sunday!?

[/quote]Not going to lie, I did that last night at the end of the driveway hoping my FW could get out this morning. But now its all drifted in and she’s sicker than a dog and not going to work anyways.. Even more of a reason to go fishing and stay out of the house.
December 28, 2018 at 7:21 am #1821156I told my wife it was like shoveling cement. Only about 2″-2.5″ but heavy as can be.
December 29, 2018 at 7:58 pm #1821543Fired up the skidsteer then seen the rain was taking all the snow away so parked it back in the shed… done.
December 29, 2018 at 10:01 pm #1821562And I use a 3 ft Snowplow Snow Pusher.
It’ll move a lot of snow in short order but Man-O-Man it will (does) kick my

https://www.amazon.com/JM-Enterprises-TV206972-Snowplow-Pusher/dp/B00BVR96TWI looked at the same blade Denny….then opted for the 30″. Now after using it a time or two wish I’d have gotten a 24″. Sure does a slick job of removing the snow though. With the rain yesterday, I just let the guy that put it there take it away. Got movies and watched movies all day.
December 30, 2018 at 1:40 am #1821569I wore one out and broke the handle as its final straw.
So a few years back I purchased another one.
I can’t imagin that anyone so farking lazy that would steal something would steal my snow shovel leaning against my deck in my driveway!
So I’m on my third one, same brand and size, all have been 36″ers.
” I just let the guy that put it there take it away.” I hear you, that is what I’m doing now for the next couple of days.
