I ordered a hds9 touch for back of my 2015 wx2060. I have a few ideas of where to install. Just want to see a few pics of your guys installs. Any boat model will help me out. Im going to work on it next weekend. Thanks

What fishing method will you be using it for the most? Handlining, pitching jigs, contour trolling while steering with the kicker? If you only use it for trolling and steering with a bow mount, directly in front of the main motor is fine. If you plan to stand on the rear casting platform and pitch/cast anything, I’d either rail/track mount it on the gunwale.

Check out this post, I’d mount is about where this one is, but on the other side(personal preference because I try to cast off the Port side).

Thanks for the info. My wx has the kicker on the port side. I will be using the graph mostly to full contour lines as I m trolling. Then when I m on the bow casting it will be up there. I dont think there is enough room to mount behind the main, as the lid for the livewell is directly behind main. I m thinking about mounting behind kicker. I try to net fish on starboard side. Mounting on gunwale I think will be out of site a little.

Yep, that’s what I was trying to describe. BTW, how’d you mount your tracks you have your downrigger mounted to? Bolt or screw?

Here is how I have mounted my HDS on the stern of my last few boats. I also did the same to my dad’s WX2060 on the port side since his kicker is on that side. Then I have a RAM ball on the bow so I can move it up there if I want.

The reason for the RAM over tracks is I like having my rod holders on the rails.

Skeeter Boat Center (Ramsey Mn.)mounted the tracks for me, you can inquire with them and I am sure they could help you out.

Most tracks are bolted down with 1/4-20 bolts, big fender washers and nyloc nuts. All the ones I have ever put on come with the hardware.

I made the tool holder. Its 1/2″ plastic. It sure was hard to get over the fact of drilling holes in the boat, but now that it is done its great.
