HDS Carbon no source (sometimes)

Power is fine. At times I will have no source. Have to disconnect source and reconnect and sometimes it will come back on. Sometimes it takes 5 tries to do this but if I power the unit down when working and re-power, the source is not seen again. Once it has the source it stays until the unit is powered down. Any thoughts?

Do you have other graphs connected together or just the one. If just the one I would swap out a transducer and test to see if that is the problem.

Just the one. Don’t have another transducer and not really looking to buy another for a unit that is less than one year old and installed 6 months ago

So it’s not a networking issue. What transducers are you running? I meant more like borrow one or find and old one to test the unit. If you do not want to test yourself then send it in. No magic button that is going to fix this issue.

Using the transducer that came with the unit—structure scan transducer

I just upgraded to an Carbon HDS 7 with total scan transducer this season. I had to do a software update to ensure it was working properly. It would not recognize the transducer without the update. Make sure you have the most recent software which I believe is version 20.0

You will have to download the update on an sd card. Pop it in. Hit page button go to files and export the download. I forgot there was another software update released in March that should fix the problem. If not you will have to go the transducer route but I would almost bet if you are not using latest software that is the issue.
