Why does the vessel which is your boat run off the map and the map don’t move with the vessel ?

If you moved the cursor or touched the screen, the map will stay focused on the cursor.

Just push exit and the cursor will disappear and the map will do what it’s supposed to.

    Thanks.

Didn’t have to do that on a HB.
Guess I got a lot to learn.

if you touch the screen on a touch screen unit it will put a cursor in that location and you will move “off the chart” and the vessel will not move with you. “Clear cursor” should appear in the upper right corner or hit the exit like mentioned and you should be good to go.
This same thing could happen with a “non-touch” unit if you were in chart mode and used the directional arrows to scroll the screen. You need to exit that mode for it to get back to “live”.

One thing that is SO SWEET with moving your cursor is you can mark waypoints on spots that you have gone over. Example…Say you are navigating and notice a nice weed edge or pile of rocks but you already past it. Well, scroll your cursor on the sonar (just touch the screen where you see them) and you can mark a waypoint right there. It will even store the depth at which the cursor is located. So if you want to mark the weed edge that you found in 15ft, tap the screen on the bottom where the lake bottom shows and you can store the depth with the waypoint. You could even store it say at the weed top if you desired.
This is so useful. You don’t have to be stationary right on an object, just pass over it. Very good tool to use for scouting.
I did this a couple weeks back in Canada on LOW and marked a “milk run” of key objects to fish on each spot. My boat continually boated more and bigger fish because of targeting these key spots vs just fishing the whole shoreline, etc.

On the chart, how can you get it to show the water depth you are sitting in .
It shows SOG and all. But I ain’t interesrted in that when I’m moving.

You need to add it to the data overlay. From the keypad I think the keystrokes would be Menu, Select Chart, then you should see “Edit Data Overlay”. Once in that view you should see all sorts of things that could be added. Depth would be under “Sonar”. You may need to expand the list by clicking the X, etc, but you should be able to find it.

Note, you will have to add this to each panel you want it to appear on. Example, if you have split screen views you will need to add it to the chart there as well as if you were to use the FULL chart view.
