HDS 7 gen 1

I have confirmed I have power to my structure scan module I am getting no source on the unit. The Ethernet cable coming from the module to the unit I ohmed it with my meter and am only getting continuity on three of the five prongs. Should all five prongs have continuity? My next question is there a way to test the structure scan module to determine if it’s not working? Thanks

Back up your data and try a hard reset and see if it works.

I did the reset didn’t fix it, I’m really thinking I have Ethernet cable bad…should all five pins have continuity?

You can check the structure module by observing lights, here’s a chart I was given years ago going through similar issues. My cable was bad visually, it had been chewed.

Thanks Art for your reply, I don’t see any lights on my structure scan module..I’m gonna take a closer look this evening after work. Should the Ethernet cable have continuity on all five pins?

I don’t think so. One is a shield, usually only connected on one side. I have really never been able to find an answer confirming what it should have for continuity. I can test one of the ones I have installed in my boat later when I get home.

The lights are really hard to see on the module.
They are just above the numbers 1,2, & 3
They flicker. But like I said, they are hard to see

Update: I have power at the cable end that hooks to the module but no lights at all on the box. Here’s my question now, my sonar is working fine and since the transducer goes thru that box would urge the box that’s bad? Just not getting structure scan….

Is there a yellow wire connected from the HDS power cable to the LSS-1 power cable?

Yes it’s from a constant hot to a toggle switch to break current.
