Updated fine but now I can not find a temp readout. Only the temp history line at the top. Is it there somewhere?

    Hi,
The Humminbird Engineers seem to change the “restored default” state of the “box” w/ every (darn) software release! This time it is the Temp display got “lost” – its not really. Assuming that the Temp sensor is connected (System Status), select the “Setup screen” (with the 2D sonar screen displayed). With User Mode “Advanced”, go to “Selected Readouts” and select Temperature (Readout 1?) and your done.

    Take care ,
    Roger

When I updated my 798, I saw somewhere that you should save off your system to an SD card. Then restore finder to defaults before updating, as updating when not in default settings could cause a system failure that would need the head sent in for service to repair the problem.

Mostly what happens is some of the update gets lost, when restore is not used before the update. Once updated hit restore again and continue on your merry way. Some update fine with out doing the restore but better to not take the chance.

Even if it does have a problem updating getting an earlier version of an update and reinstalling that one then updating again to the current version usually fixes the problem and should never need to send in the unit.
