    Hi guys,
This a quote from Humminbird Greg on Yahoo Groups (sideimaging)

<<<There are only a few Ethernet capable units that have not received the 5.410
software to turn this function on yet. I think that these are the 788ci HD DI,
1155c, 1157c, and 1197c Si units. Not sure when it will be ready but it should
    not be long at all.

    Greg Walters at Humminbird>>>

I have read some chatter about “quirks” with this release level. I cannot personally attest to anything specific, so you decide if you want to put it in .

    Take care,
    Roger

Those of us running the old 997 and 788’s are out of luck. We get the update but our units are not ethernet ready from a hardware standpoint. Keeping my fingers crossed on the interlink continuing to function. The update Does get us a contour mode that fills in water column in SI mode, which I am not too excited about as it takes away the view of what is floating. At least it can be on or off. SI distance gradient markings will be an option for easy gauging of items from boat without cursor along with DI zoom which I am most excited to play with.

Havent read much bad about the updates, plan to install after my initial trip out and everything works as it did last year. Apologies on my description of the updates, just my wording versus what is posted on the HB site.

    Hi guys,
I did a little testing w/ my 998c using the 5.41 update (in the garage) and was able to see one of the “quirks” of this release level in action.

jgollihar wrote on the “Unofficial Humminbird Forum” website the following <<<That won’t be the only bug you find.
After you upload the update on your unit, if you put the down imaging or side imaging sensitivity setting on AUTO, your down imaging screen (s) will freeze, flash, and flicker.
If you put the sensitivity setting on anything other than AUTO, the update will work fine and the unit will work fine.
    JUST FYI.
Hopefully HB will get this problem fixed, I run my units on AUTO sensitivity because that seems to get me the best images.>>>

I see this problem when I’m rolling thru either the SI/DI or SI/Map screens (using the View/Exit buttons). I did not see the freeze mentioned, but the rest of his comment is correct.

    Just a FYI,
    Roger

This is one update that I would wait out for a little bit to see how it works for others that just couldnt wait.

We just put the update in a 1198 and a 998 and it seemed to work fine for us. Only spent about a half hour pushing buttons and playing but havent had any issues with it at this point.

    I bet I know who the 1198 and 998 belong too…

We’ll put ’em to a better test on the water in a couple weeks when I pick her up. Humminbird’s been consistently good about quickly getting software updates to address any quirks, so I’m confident everything will be great this summer.

I can’t get my two units to share waypoints. I’m new to this ethernet and don’t know if I am doing something wrong. Any ideas?

Well I figured out how to get the waypoints to the front unit. Now my question is why is it that when I mark something from my front unit it starts at 001 when my other waypoints end at something like 300. I am mainly wondering why this is and how it will effect me when I move waypoints to humminbird pc.
