I would like to know if anyone else is having trouble with their Humminbird 798 shutting off when pushing the buttons or hitting waves? I have narrowed it down to the power cable connection on the quick disconnect mount. I called Humminbird and they sent me a new power cable PC-11 right away. I installed it and also bent the clip on the quick disconnect mount to hold cables in place better. It does work better but when I adjust the angle of the unit it has shut off on its own a few times. I am worried it will continue to get worse as time goes on. I have included a picture of the connection. The holes on the unit that the power cable plugs into are bigger than the prongs on the power cable. My question is shouldn’t the prongs be a little bigger so there is a better connection or is that the way there supposed to be? What does yours look like? Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Bend the pins slightly on the power cord to separate them a little for a tighter contact.

    Remember, I said “Slightly”

a little goes a long ways.
