Are these two units the same units, but in different Screen sizes? I have been reading on the their website, but getting lost between these two. What are the differences if there are any?

So looking at rather quick, I’d say the screen size and some compatibality on the different cards that are available plus maybe a couple of options that may not be of interest +/-.

physically they are the same size. I would opt for 998 to get the bigger screen,as they will take up the same amount of space on the dash.

I thought I read that the 998 had a faster processor. Can someone confirm this?
