I have a 788c and was wondering if there was a way to make it so I do not leave a trail all the time when I have the unit on. I looked in the manual and couldn’t find it, but I would think there is a way to shut off that feature.

    Thanks,

    Craig

    Hi,
It’s not that hard. Hit menu twice; Slide to the Nav column; Select Current Track; Select Appearance; Slide down to Color; Open/scroll ’till you see no color (clear); Save; Your done!

Man its cold in the garage! I’m seeing 39.8 Deg F w/ a rising Barometer (currently 30.3).

    Take care,
    Roger

Roger does that work for the 987c as well as switching colors for differant days?

yes and you can save trails as well, if you want them to not be on the screen all the time, but may want to look at them at a later date to remind yourself where exactly your were on a prior day.

    Hi,
Changing the Trail (Track or Routes or Trails – whatever you like to call it) color to clear does not stop the unit from “making a Track” (IE. the current Track) – it just makes that Track invisible (note that there is still the same 20,000 point limit on the Track). As far as Track color; I’m assuming that you’re saving your Tracks and selecting a new color (by day) for the Current Track.

    Take care,
    Roger

Yes Roger that was what I was asking, but, I’ve got to get into doing more with mine. Had it what near 5 years now (Feb 2006). and need to play with the recording and other features. Usally I just jump in and “Go Fish”

Really love the down imaging that I got in the update last January!!
