Transducer question

I’m ready to install my new bow sonar but don’t really want to use the US on the trolling motor. I may want to use the sonar without the trolling motor being down. Can’t install the puck on the back because it will mess up my other sonar. I have a Alumacraft 195 so not sure if I can find a place on the floor close enough to the front to work out. What should I do and what have you done?

If it’s the same brand/frequency you will get interference
mounting it up front too. Other boats near by will give you
    sonar interference.

Can you run them on different frequencys? Run one on 200 the other on 83

install in the back and use both the bow while utilizing a ‘Y’ cable?

Should be able to run 200 and 83, one is a 1197 and the new bow unit is a 1157. What happens when they over lap? I have that Y cable not sure what it’s for, guess I haven’t looked into it yet..

    Hi,
I believe your saying you want to mount a transducer as close to the front of the boat as you can AND inside the boat – Is that correct??? Then wouldn’t you need an Alumaducer (sp?) because of the aluminum boat hull and probably some kind of wedge standoff to get the transducer as vertical as possible (because of the steep hull angles near the front of the boat).

    Correct me if I’m wrong!

    Take care,
    Roger

I really don’t know what I need. Moreyes is thinking I can mount them side by side run them on different Hz and be OK

Yes this will work otherwise you can go into the options and shut off the sonar on the unit that you are not using so there isn’t interference?

Thanks Ellis but when you have that kind of coin sitting in the boat I would like both running if I could. Is that what that Y cable is for?

They are 2 different frequencies, and another thing the 200hz cone has a norrower signal vs the 87 which is a wider angle,
