Been doing some night trolling and would like to dim my 997 down. Pressing the power button allows me to change a “light” setting…however, going from 10 to 0 on this setting makes almost no perceivable change in the backlight. Anybody else notice this or am I missing something? Thanks,

I have a 788ci and the dim functions works well on mine. Nearly blinding at night until it is turned down to 0. I can’t read the words at night unless I turn it down. Might be defective or maybe try software upgrade if you aren’t on the latest version.

Mine works very well at night. Dimming it down to 1-2 is VERY nice on the night vision!!

Have you done the software updates?
Sounds like an issue with my unit….I’ve done a couple SW upgrades. I’ll check for the latest and if not give them a call.
