Looking at at major upgrade from what I’ve got in Electronics with an older Eagle Fishfinder and Garmin GPSMAP76.

What are the real simple answer differences between the 788c, 788ci and 858c. I see the size between the 788 and 858.
What is the difference between c vs ci?
Besides size, is there any other difference between the 788 & 858?
Would I need an External Antenna?

As far as maps, I am looking for best option for my type and location of fishing. I mainly fish Bass in Club Tournaments, but love to chase Crappies and Walleye’s too. Majority of fishing is Metro Twin Cities but I get in a number of trips each year to NW Wisconsin, Northern MN (Vermilion, Namakan, Kabatogama, Leech [Heading up 9/30-10/3], Rainy along with a trip or two into SW Ontario (Rainy, LOW, Eagle, Clearwater-Pipestone) and then I have ventured into SE Manitoba (Whiteshell Provinical Park: Whiteshell, Crowduck, Saddle and Side Saddle Lakes).

Anyone know of specials this Fall or are there generally better deals in the Spring?

I have the 788ci. The “i” refers to the internal gps antenna. I have mine mounted behind my wind shield which is not “recommended” for best gps signal reception. I have never had any reception problems. Solid unit IMHO.

the “CI” stands for side imaging

SI is side imaging. CI means that the unit has an internal antenna.
