2009 1197 not reading cards

Have this unit that will not read a 2004ish lakemaster chip or a 2010 lakemaster chip but will read a hotspots chip 2003. On a trip right now. any ideas?

What update version?

There’s no way the 2004 Lakemaster chip can work as the earliest version of the lakemaster chip compatible with the Humminbirds was released winter 2010.

Is the 2010 chip a ‘Lakemaster for Humminbird’ chip?

Lakemaster for Lowrance / Garmin chips won’t be compatible with your 1197. You’ll need the chip designed expressly for the Humminbird. Unfortunately there’s no standardized data or programming language shared amongst Lowrance, Humminbird and Garmin so the chips aren’t interchangeable.
