I have the recommended solution for cleaning the screen on my 998, so far I’ve used 100% cotton towels for wiping it off, are microfiber towels ok for cleaning the screen? They appear soft enough but not sure if they have anything about them that may scratch the screen or harm it in any way, thanks.

We use the microfiber towels we have for cleaning video equipment screens all the time. They work great. Actually much better than cotton towels which often have a little too much fuzz to do a spotless job. You shouldn’t have any issues at all.

    Directly from Humminbird:

Q: What products can be used to clean my display?

A: Humminbird recommends using Windex® Vinegar Multi Surface(in the spray bottle). Do NOT use any wipes products (which can also be available as the brand name Windex Multi-Task). The lens contains a special coating which improves visibility. It is recommend to use the above cleaner because we have tested and proved this cleaner. It does not deteriorate the coatings on the lens.

I use a mixture of white vinegar and water. It works great and costs next to nothing.
