new 998 user and I have the lakemaster MN chip, I can see that it’s installed in the left slot by looking in the gps diagnostic view, so I assume the unit is reading the card. I can’t get it top show any lake maps, obviously I’m missing something about how to use this feature, but not sure what? Anyone near Hastings that has time for beer to help walk me through some things? thanks Pk
I had the same thing happen to mine. I updated the software from Hummingbird’s website and it worked just fine after that. The salesman told me that I would not have to do this because the unit was new and had shipped after the latest release. But it did the trick. He also told me that pool 3 contours were on the Minnesota chip… Not true. And the Pool 4 contours are 3′ not 1′ as the package suggested. Wish I would have waited to buy it.
Also, make sure that your chip is the “Lakemaster for Humminbird” chip. Only the Lakemaster chip designed for the HB will work in the bird.
