Humminbird Software was released today for the 917, 931, 955, 957, 967, and 997. The benefits of this release are improved sonar performance at shallow depths (does not update on the 955 since sonar is not an option). Resolves operational issues related to the 2010 version of Navionics Platinum charts along with resolving the course-up operation… issues with Lakemaster charts (does not update on the 931 since it is only a trackplotter if GPS antenna was added).

Thanks for the update Mr. Moreyes. I sent this out by email to a couple buddies that needed to update to fix the course up / lakemaster issue.

The details on the software update says “Automatically restores defaults when reprogramming unit”. Does this mean we don’t have to go back to default settings to install the software update or does it mean it will reset our advanced settings after installing the software?

Yeah i played it safe and restored defaults before installing the update today and it went good. I noticed the software update now prompts to restore defaults before installing as a step of the process however I had already done so.
