I have converted my electronics to Humminbird after years of Lowrance/ I reently bought a 917C unit and the new Lakemaster Humminbird MN chip. The contours do not show up on my unit. Can someone please help me. How do I get the unit to read the Lakemaster map data? thanks Dave
Is there a software update available for your unit?
I would second the above. I see that the 917c is a compatible unit, however if you havent updated the software after the 1st of the year, I would put a dollar on that being the issue.
I believe you need to update the software via Humminbirds website after registering your it at the same place.
This is off of the Humminbird web site and a friend just had the same problem.
The Chart Detail Level under the Chart Tab should be set on MMC/SD card only or on ALL to show depth contours, fishing areas, underwater wrecks, tides and currents in additino to the Basic and Navigation. Also make sure that Spot Soundings is chosen as Visible to display the dpeth measurements on the chart.

You will have to update the software in the unit to be able to use the Humminbird LakeMaster Card. This card was just released this year. You can go to our website and register your unit and download the software on to a SD Card and install it in your unit.
On the LakeMaster Cards for the time being you will need to set your Chart Orientation to North-Up. We have seen a couple of isolated issue with Course Up not loading the Charts. We are working on this issue.
I bought the unit from Jolly Ann, Wayne mentioned that this unit had the updated software. I have gone back into the unit and checked setting in the chart view. All is checked in the 1st box and MMC/SD card is set in the 2nd box. The unit still does not display contour lines. While sitting in my driveway, I zoomed in on Lake Minnetonka, no contour lines or depths displayed. still need help thanks Dave

I did find that I have version 3.72 the lakemaster comaptibility is version 4.75. Now I just need to figure how to upload into my unit. thanks again Dave

I think you’ll find it to be so easy… a caveman could do it. 
In a nutshell…
Download the update from humminbird and save it to you desktop.
Save the update to the SD card from your desktop.
Put the SD card in the card reader in your HB unit.
Turn the HB unit on. Your HB unit will provide prompts that will guide you through the rest of the process. Couldn’t be easier.
