    Hey guys,

I’m running an 1197 alongside a Lowrance LCX-27C. Periodically, for no specific reason I can figure out, the bird loses bottom. Then after a while it will come back, get lost, etc…. The LCX has no problems and when I shut the it off, the bird operates fine except that it seems that bottom is not as stable as it was before I loaded the new software version this year. Anyone have a suggested fix for this issue, other than not running the LCX?

With the new updates the birds are having a software issue in SHALLOW water. Bird programmers are coming up with a fix.
Did you check your tranducers front to back angle to much or too little can cause the same issue?

I’d check transducer angle, especially if you’ve fished recently in rough water (lots of wind lately).. Mine will sometimes need to be pushed back down a touch since it kicks up a little in rough waves. Problem solved after adjusting transducer angle.
