Lake Map Software for Humminbird

    I just bought a new 588ci and am not real sure as to what I need / want for lake mapping software. Navionics, Lakemaster, etc…

    I will be fishing primarily Iowa and South Dakota lakes with one week in central Minnesota this summer. There seems to be advantages with each type but where does a guy stop? I can only use so many features and fuctions. So I am asking for help to find out what you are using and what features are worthwhile as opposed to “nice, but never use it” functionality. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Did you mean the 587c? I just checked the websites (Lake Maps and Navionics) and it looks like the Humminbird 500 series boxes can only run Navionics Hotmaps, Premium, and Gold XG map chips. It will not run any of the Lake Master chips or the Navionics Platinum.

    I would recommend the Navionics Premium North 2010 if you live/fish in the Midwest.

    Sorry – My unit is a 788ci, NOT the 588ci Ihad posted before. Sorry for the confusion.
