I have a 788ci on the bow ran through my Terrova,I bought last year. I’m going to buy a new 998 SI for the counsel in the next week. What else should I buy to make this the most efficient and productive setup. Does the 998 come with the external GPS puck? Should I interlink the two? I’ve read some about two transducers for the 998 on the transom for higher speed readings and to protect the expensive SI transducer, any thoughts?

Interlink most definitly, transducer not really, it depends on your boat

The interlink is great if you want the two units to communicate waypoints etc. The 998C comes with it’s own GPS antenna (50 channel super charged with mag wheels). The second ducer is optional but I usually advise guys to just go with the SI ducer that comes with the unit and see how it works on their boat. Most guys are fine with it as is. You can always add the speed ducer later if needed.
