Janon, Mike, what are you guys running your SI sensitvity at generally? I was able to dunk the boat in the Chippewa this week for about 5 minutes, but there was just too much going on in the river for me to keep an eye on, and allow me to play with the locator. I snapped a few screenshots, but I am sure the sensitivity is way too high. Looks like the water is slowing down quite a lot here now, so maybe I can get out and play with is some here soon.

hard bottom (rock, sand) generally a SI sensitivity of 5-7

soft bottom (mud) generally a touch higher…10-ish.

Just a little toying with the SI sensitivity and contrast (in the SI enhance menu option) will help you identify the best settings for the waters you’re looking at.

In a lot deeper water/softer bottom, I’ll run up closer to the max sensitivity… (I know you’ll be using it on Lake Michigan )

Generally, though, its much less – like Jason says… All just depends on conditions.

Lets get on Wissota and run some SI trials this summer!!
