Are most of you guys rigging the SI’s with the HS, at boat bottom, and the SI ducer up? Or are most of you rigging the SI at boat bottom, and taking the chance of smacking it?

Your at risk no matter which transducer you mount as low as you can without an obstruction. Your style of boat also makes a big difference in location. I have a DynaTrak bass rig with a stepped transom and I glassed a puck in the hull for my high speed 2D and the SI above the step. At high speed, my SI ducer is out of the water.

Right at the water level…. People talk about this subject a lot, but I’ve never had an issue with my ‘ducer hitting something. Hopefully that will continue. Not sure if its as big of a deal as people make it out to be…

Agreed, Nobody thinks twice about hanging a skimmer style below the boat. Mine looks exactly like whittsends, maybe even a tad lower.

I think the bigger reason to keep it flushed up is it helps to eliminate the rooster tail effect.

Thanks guys, for $100 I can have the Y cable, and the HS transducer. Figured it would be nice to have the high speed transducer, and it would be cheaper to replace that, than the SI version for $150.
