    Hey guys,

I got a 997 SI for my birthday couple weeks back. Looking at getting it installed. I’ve got the cables most run. I read the manual a couple of times and don’t see anything about installing a switch t the gps. Lowrance suggests having a power switch on the gps. I don’t see anything about it for the Humminbird, can I just wire it straight through with a fuse?

    Thanks,

    Les

Welcome to the world of not powering your GPS antenna.

The 997 head unit does all the work. It powers the GPS antenna. All you have is one set of wires that you’ll protect with a fuse and then run to an appropriate power source.

Mine was rigged to a switch for convenience, but that’s not a necessity.

    Enjoy your 997!
