Playing around with my 797c2SI and DI. What was really cool was split screen with 2D and DI. Turning down the sensetivity on the DI while the 2D was lit up with bait fish I could pick out the bigger fish in that mess of baitfish and larger fish and tell excatly what depth the larger fish were using and where they were. 
Can`t wait until I can get and 1157si.

Is it possible to have DI, SI, and mapping all on split screen at the same time with a 997 or 1197?
Not yet.
The current release has one 3-way split possibility: SI, DI, and 2D sonar

They have done soooo much simply via software updates in the past year…. I would assume that more split screen options might be released in future software updates…. (???)

What options for split screen are available when using a map chip? According to the Bird manual there is SI & Map option, is there a DI & Map option?
Regardless its a great product which surely will continue to evolve for the consumer.
I think that all of the possible 2-way split screens are available. If not all, then certainly the vast majority are there, including a DI-chart split view.
For example….
