I live in northeast iowa (waterloo) and i am going to get a SI unit this spring. My question is: does anyone know of a good reputable dealer or marine shop around iowa that has done these and knows exactly where to put the transducer, has great workmanship, etc… Or where do you think i should go to have it done? If i have to drive that’s ok but i want it done right the first time. I have a 2000′ skeeter zx185 bass boat. Thanks for any and all help or comments available..

Skeeter Boat Center in Chippewa Falls specializes in Side Imaging system installation, and the price is simply unbeatable. Really….unbeatable. Since you are running Skeeter, don’t you want someone who knows Skeeters backwards and forwards to do the work for you? Send me a PM for current pricing.

A typical bass install will have the SI transducer mounted high on the transom, often on the jackplate, to keep the SI ‘ducer safe at high speed. For high-speed 2D readings, a through-hull puck transducer with Y cable is typically installed in the bilge.

Why invest in a professional Side Imaging installation?

My recommendation: order your unit through Skeeter Boat Center, have it shipped directly to them, bring the boat up for the install and water test, and drive home satisfied. Better yet, schedule an extra day to hit the Mississippi on the way back.

Well, if you want a non Skeeter Boat Center opinion here’s one.
Trailer up to the Skeeter Boat Center and have it done right the first time. If you can find someone closer to home that will do it as well (and for the same price), that is fine-but that being said, I have personally seen their work and looks good. Since all boat transoms are different, I’d get the puck position right the first time
to get the most out of your unit.
BTW, I am sponsored by NOBODY!!!!!
