Does SI work in shallow water? It sure does, I was trolling Bay City Flats, many of you know how shallow it is, 2-4′, while trolling I spotted a tree off to the side and sure enough snagged a Shad Rap in the tree, it was about 8-10′ off to the side of the boat, I need to get some pics. Tree was plain as day on the SI screen

    Couldn’t agree more Kirt.

You probably saw this image from a couple days ago. Shallow sand flat, 5 fow (check out the depth to the left of the red arrow), and a whole bunch of fish in the red boxes. Fish in SI are bright white with dark sonar shadows.

Bring a blank SD card with you next time so you can share some of your best images!

As far as seeing fish, Side Imaging excels in shallow water.

It has taught me that what I thought was structure and what the fish uses as structure were 2 different things.

It has also taught me that its not always about structure, many times its about texture!

Note the depth in this image!

In this image, I’m 80 feet from shore (to the right) and the fish are inbetween me and shore. Alot of the dishpan style lakes that I fish, the most structure in the lake is the first 20 feet from shore.

Nice images — especially all the fish marks!

Step one. Mark fish on SI
Step two. Cast lure to fish
    Step three. Get the net.
