No doubt about it Kirt, the Interlink system from Humminbird is a great component for fishing systems that include more than one sonar/GPS unit.
The Interlink system allows multiple head units to share position, waypoint, and navigation information. Barometric pressure readings from the Weathersense accessory can also be shared through the Interlink.
The Interlink is a plug-and-play accessory. It has ports for cables from two head units as well as from the GPS receiver. Plug all 3 into the Interlink, power the head units up, and bingo….Interlink does the rest. Instant fishing network. No need to have a degree in electrical engineering if you want your Humminbird units to communicate with each other.
One of the really nice features of the Interlink is that routes or waypoints that are marked on one head unit are (1) automatically transfered to the other(s) that are part of the network, and (2) saved on the Interlink itself. If you want to transfer your navigation info or waypoints to a new Humminbird network, all you have to do is unplug the Interlink from the old network and install it in the new one. All waypoints and saved routes are automatically transferred to the new network with the Interlink is activated. Or, if you feel the need to “borrow” waypoints from your buddy, all you need to do is “borrow” his Interlink for a few moments and connect it to one of your head units, rather than write all the waypoints down by hand.
Installation of the Interlink and networking of multiple head units is one of the services now provided by Skeeter Boat Center. If you’re ready to change the way you fish by stepping up to a Humminbird system, check out Skeeter Boat Center’s new promotion: Humminbird Sales and Install at Skeeter Boat Center.
