Looking at a HB 859DI HD and talked to a Cabelas sales man and he mentioned that the slower speeds less than 1.5mph and depths less than 8 ft, the image will be fuzzy and broken up do to over lapping signal. Anyone have any trouble simular to this or issues with the DI units?

I did not have a problem when I was in the bay loading the boat Depth was around 6 feet. The only problem I am having is the depth keeps changing from 15 or so feet to over 60 feet. I think it has something to do with transducer i being mounted in boat.

You are not always going to get pictures like whats on the box but i wouldnt say they are fuzy. Have seen some pretty good images of trees while dragging jigs with mine. Usually less than a mile per hour doing this.

Put one of those plastic mounting boards on so you can move transducer easily, sometimes you may need to adjust positioning to get the sweet spot. The instructions are a guide for good starting point.

Put mine on a mounting board. Did have to adjust it up and down a few times. Think there was something about how far it needs to be from the motor. Its been a couple of years since putting it on.

should be a min of 12″ from the prop even more if you can, also depending on which way your prop rotates will determine which side of the boat to mount it on, also stay clear of rows of rivets and anything else that cause turbulence
