360 Imaging – price drop

When 360 Imaging was first advertised a year ago it seemed to get a lot of hype. After a year I really have heard very few people of actually buying. I expected a lot of the fishing shows that push product so hard to really highlight them in their shows but I’m not seeing it. I think the price was too high for an accessory/add-on.

I just saw today that the price has been lowered from $2k down to $1500 for the transom mount and $999 for the trolling motor transducer. Probably in part to the roll out of Lowrance’s new model that is cheaper yet but maybe doesn’t have all the capabilities either. Still its competition which helps..

Does the new price on the 360 change anyone’s mind or is it still too expensive?

Not this year but next I will be looking seriously at 360. I just upgraded to a 999 si,and Link and want to get as familiar with interpreting the side imaging this year. It will also make me more confident to make the upgrade if I feel its worth it to me. I also upgraded my 788 from a dual beam transducer to the quadrabeam transducer. That my friends is a fantastic 2D sonar tool. It will give a beneath the bottom of the boat read and split the right and left returns all on the same screen. Nice to know which side of the boat to fish off of especially when stationary.

    I will be adding a bow 360.
I was excited for the 360 when it came out, but the sheer size of the transom mount one is out of the question for my boat.

I want the bow 360 more for ice fishing than for open water. Hoping to get one before the ice is gone. $999 is a whole lot better than $1500

If the trolling motor transducer were available for the Terrova iPilot Link I bought last year, my wallet would be $999 cheaper today… would look good on the dual 998’s I bought as well..

I also like the prospect of a bow 360 but it doesnt work on Terrova Or Powerdrives. I do love to tinker and am putting together in my head an auxillary shaft that attatches to bow that the clamp on 360 would attach to. But as stated earlier I am holding off till next year on the 360.

I’m thinking you should perfect that Terrova bow mount this year and I’ll help you proto-type one

I have a V2 and don’t really have any concerns finding an alternate method to deploy the BOW 360.

So is there anyway to hook up 3 ducers to a humminbird? Currently i have the HDSI and QUAD, if i add the 360 i’m guessing i’ll have to pitch the QUAD (Which frankly i never use)

Where did you see the $999 price for the bow mount 360?

I also have a bow terrova iPilot…for the love of Pete, somebody has to be able to rig something to be able to use the 360 with my terrova!!!!

That is the new retail price for each of those units! It may take a little time for stores and company’s to get things switched as this just happened 2 days ago!

Ok, on the front face of the steering box if one were to drill four holes and mount a plate that has an arm that extends at 90 degrees forward for about 14″ and then has a round tube the same diameter as the shaft that the bow mount 360 requires and whalah. it would deploy with the terrova, and not be at the mercy of the rotational effects of it.

Wow, all I can say is thanks that I procrastinated. I was just getting ready to buy one.

    Yes there is a way.

Purchase another Y-cable and a transducer switch.

Just ordered my 999 and my Bow 360 today. Right now, I have a Motorguide and the 360 will be ok with the collar. Looking forward, when my Motorguide dies, I would like to go with the I Pilot. I also am building a bracket in my head to use, if and when I need it.
