Besides a year newer, What are the differences? Trying to figure out if the 999 is worth the extra $300+

I don’t plan on networking units together as I use a Lowrance at the bow..

The faster processor in the 999 is the main thing I’d like to get confirmed…

yes, faster processor and internal GPS ant. Other than that the same and they will connect with the 98 series. The new Onix is totally different and will not connect with any thing other than another Onix

Important note: the 99s will ethernet with 98s with the purchase of an Ethernet adapter. Making it more expensive to do so.

Depending on number of Ethernet connections needed, you may just need
Ethernet Dongle AS EC QDE (Part #720074-1, dated 2014-01-09) from Minn Kota that contains a push-type socket for connecting to HB 999ci HD SI and pin-type screw socket for connecting to 30′ cable supplied with the I-Pilot Link Control Head for the PD V2 trolling motor
