I have never owned a HB before, but am thinking about buying one and buying the 360 bow imaging. Looking at the on line screen shots, they are confusing. Is there any chance that HB is planning on coming out with color to distinguish the fish, kinda like sonar shows up. I think it would make it a lot easier to read.

I have no idea about the color option. If you do buy a humminbird I would suggest going to a sonar class to learn what you are looking at. I went to one at Thorne Brothers when SI first came out and that made a world of difference understanding what I was looking at. There are different seminars all over the place to help people out. You won’t regret your purchase I am sure.

February 16, 2014 at 8:38 am #1389073In some respects it is almost easer to see fish with 360 because as they move you will notice the marks changing position on the screen.

Thanks, I am aware of that. Right now, I am running a Motorguide, and with me adding a sleeve, it will mount on it.February 16, 2014 at 10:49 am #1389094Quote:

Haven’t seen any seminars in my area, just yet. I plan on buying some DVD’s to help me with the learning curve.LearnSideImagingPosts: 3February 16, 2014 at 1:48 pm #1389118Fish are quite easy to spot with 360 Imaging. All of the bright white streaks you see in this 360 Image are fish, primarily perch and bluegills associated with a large mudflat. As noted above, one great way to confirm that objects identified with 360 Imaging are actually fish is to watch them move between one sweep of the 360 beam to the next.

NObody can develop sonar that knows the return was a fish or a stick. It’s up to you to learn the differences.
NOt really that hard. But yes, a little effort will be required.
I’m also highly contemplating adding the BOW360 to my boat, and more importantly, ice fishing.
castle-rock-clownPosts: 2596February 17, 2014 at 7:13 am #1389215straight back, those dimples in the sand are their spawning beds.
Those are pretty easy ones as examples. where it gets difficult is when there is an abundance of structure with hard bottom, rubble and contour changes. My most challenging are fish hugging the bottom and the bottom is hard with large gravel or rubble.
