No, not the Duck Dynasty Si!

Want to move my 798 to the bow. Terrova has universal puck, but if I want SI up front, how is it rigged? Can the cable run in the groove on the shaft or is it better to run it loosely?

    Now back to Duck Dynasty…

The guys at SBC mounted a DI xducer on the bottom of my Terrova. Yes the cable runs right down the groove and gets siliconed in place. Works well!!

Would you have any chance of posting pics of what that looks like? If you are in storage, no worries. Can’t be too tough to do.

Running it loosely will result in a twisted off cable. Running it in the shaft slot is the way to go. You need to be careful when stowing the terrova that you don’t “slam” it home, or you will eventually damage the cable where it exits the slot. Trust me..

Picture 147 is ultimately how I would like Minn Kota to rig these, but that’s not going to happen I don’t think.

You’ll need a different mount for the 798 transducer,

Thanks for the link eyekatcher glad I could help you.

Are you planning to use it as a down imaging sonar, or still want to use the si?

I’d like to use down imaging and side as well.

The Bas guys have been running SI on the bow since it`s inception using the trolling motor to swing the ducer back and forth, similar to 360. Takes a bit of learn time with the images this way.

School of fish going 3.5 with the console unit. Note how they stratify away from the boat in shallow water. Also note how many fish are in the water column.

Image from the trolling motor… What side of the boat are you going to fish out of?

Is it perfect, is it even close? Nope. Does it tell you valuable information? absolutely.. Personally, I think its a beautiful shot.

As a jig and plug pitcher primarily, this tool is well worth the effort.

If you are a live bait troller, or a plug troller or even a verticle jigger where most of your action occurs behind or beside the boat, this will probably have little value to you. If you are a pitcher, Id look into it.

Fish can be seen at speed higher than optimum (3.5) also. Heres a shot at 10.1.

You cannot see fish at 39
