597 on the ice…

    Anyone ever used a HB 597 ice fishing in flasher mode? I assume there is a power cord/battery hook-up and transducer.

    I bought a the portable station from hb and ice transducer for my 596. I haven’t used the flasher screen but the unit works great on the ice

    Hey Del, I assume the hb station has the transducer and all that stuff…how much does it cost?

    Hey Scott, It has the charger, battery and holding case. The transducer is separate. I got the portable pack at cabelas bargain cave for 99$I think the transducer was 69 or 79 I can’t remember. I just ordered the GPS puck so I can use my 798 and my lakemaster maps.

    I am also curious and have been thinking about adding this conversion to my ice fishing tools. I have had good look with the 597 on open water.

    I think this is the route I’m going for now. I just can’t see getting a new Marcum just yet, we’ll wait and see how often I get out this winter. I’d like to buy a new house, I’ve got the old 6×8 suitcase style. It’s heavy but I like having a floor but it keeps you in one spot!
