Hummingbird Issues

My 2 year old Hummingbird 597 ci HD with down imaging is having trouble reading bottom all of a sudden. It is acting like the power is turned way down on the sensitivity but it is still on auto. I am trying to figure out a) is this likely to be a head unit or the transducer and b) should I be going to Johnson outdoors with a question like this or is it mine to take care of since it is 2 plus years old. This started this spring where at times it did not read bottom well and was not showing fish but this weekend it went completely egg shaped. Thoughts? Similiar situations? Solutions?

Is battery output good and strong. Check that and ensure connections are tight. Hope this helps.

I have a bunch of questions for you.

Have you restored defaults on the unit?
Have you made any changes to the unit or the boat?
What software version are you running?

Does the issue occur in DI and traditional sonar?
If u have a screen snapshot available to share that would help us “see” what you are seeing on the unit.

Have you checked the transducer for any damage to it or the cable?

Does the problem occur all the time or just when moving or sitting still?

    Thank you,
    Deborah @ Humminbird
