Has anyone used the Ram Pivot Mount? I’ve had problems with the standard mount and this one appears to be a more secure option. I want adjustability but want it to stay where set in rough water. I have a new 1850 Super Hawk being rigged next week with a 1198. Thanks for your help.

If they fit for what you want they are very solid mounts. I have the 2.25″ ram mount on my 1198 and it doesnt even budge in rough water.

make sure the mount can hold up to 10 pounds, there aer some weaker ones out tehre with a 2.5″ ball.

Doesn’t look like the Pivot Mount would give you much room on the dash (depending on how your windshield sits).

I had the Ram Swing Arm on my rig and both dad and the FIL have the Double Swing Arm on their rigs. I had the Ball/Socket Mount on my previous boat. I really like the Swing Arm. Extremely solid and has some position versatility.

I have 2 HDS’s on the 2 1/2″ large ram mounts and they don’t move. Matter of fact, therre is times they are hard to get off if remain in the same position for a prolonged period.
I am very happy and can’t see myslef ever changing.

I had issues with the ram mounts myself on my first boat. On the last two boats I have run stabil-mounts, I absolutely love them. The come in a few different sizes and options. The ones in the second picture tilt forward and backwards.
