    I would think they would be coming out with a touch screen soon. I am in the same boat as you. I am going to wait until fall. I already ordered the link upgrade though.

    The 1198 has always been dual processor and HD.

    what about the 1197? Does anyone know how much difference there is between that and the 1198?

    I will be in line for a boat upgrade in a few years (so all new electronics at that time) and have a deal in front of me for a 1197 in great shape. How much am I missing between that and the 1198?

    Does the 1197 support the I pilot Link option. I believe all the Ethernet is nessasary for the Link interface.

    1197 is slow for mapping in compairison to the 1198. I would expect it to be less responsive with the I-Pilot Link as well. jmo
