    I don’t remember seeing any transducers on the outside of my boat, but I do get SI so would it be magic then

    I had the 998c SI and could not read the display in bright daylight (not direct sunlight). I switched to a 998c HD SI, and there is a great improvement. The display is now readable in bright daylight and for some reason the detail and contrast in the SI mode is greater.
