How reliable is the Fish IDer on my 345c HB??

    I wonder if it is best to turn off the fish ID and just look at the echos.
    I have the fish warning turned off so that don’t make any sound to be distracting, but just wonder if this feature is good to rely on to any extent.

    Anything in the water will show up as a fish,turn it off.

    Not true the return on today’s units have to meet a certain criteria before is shows the fish symbol. Still not saying every symbol is a fish.

    You are better off turning it off and reading the depth finder. Learning to adjust your unit correctly can produce big returns in terms of fish and structure.
