I am thinking of getting another unit for the front of my boat that i can use with the us2 on my terrova. The question is how and why would a person link the 2 units together. I wanted to do this so that I could see map chips on both units but I just read a post that said you woould still need a second chip. So what are the advantages of linking the units.
Linking the units would share waypoints between the 2. Which series units are you planning on linking? If they are both side imaging units I believe you could see the SI view on the bow unit, which would actually be a feed from the console unit and its tranducer. This would be more common on the **8 series as they have faster processors and ethernet linking for faster data transfer. There may be more advantages but those would be the main 2. Hope this helps!
