597 transducer help

    Hello ido. I need some advice I purchased a humminbird 597cihddi for running gps on ice. But I’m going to let my uncle use it in his boat for the summer he has a 14.5 foot aluminum boat that is really flat in the back on the bottom. He put the transducer where the directions said to put it and now it shoots a half a@@ rooster tail where the transducer is. Please any advice on how this could be fixed would be very greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    Call up HB support (1-800-633-1468) and ask for a transducer plug. Another option is to wrap some electrical tape around the gap on the kick up hinge (the part that is closest to the transom).

    Yup – I had the same problem with my 597, and now my 788.
