    I just bought humminbirds and have the gold chips my question is will the gold allow me to mark depth contours so if im trolling in 12ft i can hilite that depth newby to hb thanks

    Just make sure that the card you purchase will work in the unit you own! Not all cards will work in all units.

    You can’t highlight just that depth line, but you can highlight out to 12′ so everything deeper than 12′ would show up as white, and 12′ and shallower would be a shade of blue.

    That would be down to 6 ft rather than 12 ft. I’m trying to get Navionics to lower your choice of a safety depth to 3 ft as I primarily fish in 3-5 ft of saltwater.

    You could do that too. You pick how deep of a depth you want it shaded to. Set the depth to 6ft and everything from 0′-6′ would be shaded blue.
