    When buying electronics how can I tell if I’m buying the most current units or a hold over from last year?

    Hi,
    You can tell the build date of any Humminbird unit by looking at the Serial Number on either the back of the unit or the box. E.g. Serial #12xxyyzz-0123 indicates that the unit was made in year 2012 (“12”), month “xx”, day “yy”, built on station number “zz”, and unit number 0123 on that station. Note: if the unit was made before 2010, the year digit will be a single character.
