Humminbird 1198 HD High Def Question?

    I am looking at the new humminbirds and am curious how long they have offered the HD series? Do all the 1198 and 998’s have HD or is it something new? If so is there that much difference between the old and the HD units? Thanks

    I was wondering the same ?, so I contacted humminbird and this is what I got. “The 1198 is a high definition unit, and there is no units higher.” So this should mean all 1198c units are HD.

    the 1198’s have not changed since they came out. The HD on the 700’s units was put on to show off the higher screen resolution than competitors and to differenciate the HD ethernet capable models from the non ethernet capable models.
